The 5th edition of the international workshop on
"Electronic Structure and Processes at Molecular-Based Interfaces" (ESPMI-Ⅴ)
took place at Chiba University, Chiba, Japan, from 25th Monday to 28th Thursday, January, 2010.

ESPMI-Ⅴ followed the successful versions of this workshop organized at Nagoya University, Japan, in 1999, Bad Honnef, Germany in 2003, Nagoya University again in 2006, and Princeton University in 2008, and was organized for a memory of the late Professor Kazuhiko Seki, Nagoya University, who initiated the series of this workshop.

The workshop covered fundamental aspects of organic-inorganic and organic-organic interfaces pertinent to organic and molecular electronics. The format was one of long invited talks, 36 invited talks with ample time for in-depth discussion on both current and future issues in the interface related phenomena. Poster sessions were organized as well.

Tutorial lectures and the get together meeting were held in the evening, on January 25th Monday. Scientific sessions were held from January 26th Tuesday in the morning to 28th Thursday in the evening.

ESPMI-Ⅵ will be held in Germany.
